I John 1: 7 – 9

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.  8¶ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

There are two words I want you notice in these three verses, cleanseth and cleanse.  I under lined them so that you will notice them.  These verses are for the people that have already received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.  If you are not a born-again child of God you cannot clam these promises.

A pardon is not a cleansing.  Paying your fine or finishing your sentence is not a cleansing.  Your sin is still in your file.  But with a cleansing it is complete gone never to be remember or brought up again.

If you confess your sins to God the Father via Christ Jesus and keep on doing whatever it is you confessed, you have not really repented of that sin.  You may have felt remorse or guilt at the time but when one keeps going back to that same old sin you have not repented of it.  Repentance is a complete about-face.  At this time, you need to be asking the Lord for help.  Ask Him to do whatever is necessary for you to repent and stop what ever this sin is.

Never forget God loves you, has always loved, you do not need to do anything to get Him to love, and you cannot do anything to stop Him from loving you.  He loves you so much He will take you just like you are, but because of His great love He will not leave you the way you are.  You can always trust someone that loves you that much.

John 3: 16

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Hello and Welcome

First and foremost, as the Pastor of Bernalillo Independent Baptist Church, I want to welcome you to our church’s new web page.  As you roam through our web page you will see that our goal is to fulfill the Great Commission that Jesus Christ gave His first church right before He ascended back to His father in heaven.  As Jesus’s under-shepherd my goal is to lead His flock by teaching and preaching from the Bible.  My heart’s desire is for our church to be a church that is solely based on the Holy Scriptures.

Everything that is preached and taught here at Bernalillo Independent Baptist Church is from the Holy Word of God.  I have always said, “If it can not be proven from the Bible then do not believe it no matter what is said by anyone.”  There is a well know statement that states, “When the plain sense makes come sense seek no other sense, lest you get nonsense.”  In my teaching I also teach people how to study the Bible so they can glean the great truths, promises, joys, and blessing for the Words of God themselves.  In II Timothy 2: 15 God tells us to: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Have ever had the Bible speak to you as you read, study, and meditate upon on it?  Have you felt God speaking to you personally while you set under the preaching and teaching of His Scriptures?  If you have never had that experience, or if it has been a long time, then you are missing one of the great joys as a Christian.

I want to encourage you visit, fellowship, and worship with the Lord’s family here at our Church.

EVERYONE NEEDS A CHURCH HOME

 In Christ’s Service,

Pastor Ernest Key
